You will be working directly as part of a client service team that works on international accounts with leading global pharmaceutical companies. You will be expected to think strategically and delivery projects effectively. The role will require a confident individual who will be able to communicate daily with clients and international key opinion leaders. You will have account executives and/or account managers reporting to you, and you will report directly to a Client Service Team Director.

The type of work in which you will be involved includes publication plans, primary and secondary publications, competitor analysis, slide sets, product monographs, conferences (and all related materials) and participation at strategic workshops.

You must have at least a BSc in a biological science, a PhD is advantageous but not a requirement. You should have ideally 3-4 years experience preferably within a medical communications agency. You must have direct experience of working on a variety of communications initiatives, be able to deliver projects effectively, meet deadlines, grow your accounts organically and have the experience and ability to manage junior members of staff. You will be expected to work on new business pitches and should therefore have experience in putting pitches together and have good presentation skills.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Editor will play a crucial role in ensuring that content is clear, accurate and attractively laid out and the remit of the role is varied and challenging. More specifically:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Working closely with the client services team, and sometimes supplier companies, the Account Manager will ensure that projects are delivered on time, under budget and to the Client’s complete satisfaction.

This will involve complete understanding of the project deliverables and the communication of these to the rest of the account management team. Liaison with clients to keep them completely updated is a key part of this role as is the development of strong client relationships via email, telephone conversations and face-to-face meetings. More specifically, the Account Manager will be involved in reference checking, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of copy.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager within a medical education agency, although candidates with exceptional experience within the pharmaceutical industry sector may be considered. Above all, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of complex medical issues across a broad range of therapy areas and have a broad understanding of the ABPI regulations. A degree or equivalent background in healthcare will be required for success in this role.
